Description:
A large, impressive jug, or pitcher, as my American friends say. Featuring a large transfer of a US ship, in full sail, flying a large Stars & Stripes flag. On the reverse a pseudo coat of arms, loosely based on the arms of the Shipwrights Company, a London guild.
Beneath the spout, a version of the Great Seal of the United States, showing 13 stars relevant to the number of states which formed the country only 20-30 years earlier. Awesome!
Circa 1800-10
Approx - 8 inches (200mm) tall.
In poor to fair condition having been professionally re-stuck at some point in its 200-210 year history.
